John Crutchfield’s latest one-man-show – a verse play with original live music – is the sequel to his celebrated The Songs of Robert, which won a Judges Award for Outstanding Solo Performance at the 2009 New York International Fringe Festival. Like the original, the sequel features Crutchfield in over a dozen roles as well as

singing and playing original songs on guitar and banjo.

The play tells the story of a middle-aged man who returns to his hometown in Southern Appalachia after being named in a mysterious Last Will and Testament. There he encounters old classmates and friends, confronts a town changed beyond recognition, and discovers a family secret that alters his understanding of himself and his place in the world. No knowledge of the prequel is necessary to enjoy this by turns hilarious, strange, and moving show.
