A satirical, light-hearted mix of black humour and existential questions – a plea for
life.
A strange visitor. The wrong door. And suddenly everything is hanging in the balance.
Bernhard has made up his mind: today is the last day of his life. But just as he
about to take the final step, there’s a knock at his door – Death is standing before him. However,
the newcomer to the “business of dying” has got the wrong floor.
Between absurd comedy and profound conversations, an unexpected
encounter develops, forcing Bernhard to rethink his life. Ironically, it is
Death, of all people, who gets him back on track: he makes sure that Bernhard
one floor higher, he meets the woman he has only admired from afar until now – and so
, shortly before his supposed end, he suddenly experiences lightness and optimism.
