A Bit About Ghosts moves between dystopia and reality; in a border area where identity, control and subjective memory merge. The body is both an archive and a battlefield. It is trapped in the feedback loops of a system that promises progress but at the same time undermines individuality. With fragmented gestures, shifting identities and in the presence of another body, the dancer moves through landscapes characterised by surveillance, the dictates of perfectionism and power. As the body conforms to external authorities and internal constraints, we observe the loss of self, agency, softness and contradiction.
The performance does not aim to offer a solution, but creates space for disturbing feelings in the face of increasing fragmentation of being and for the surreal feeling of being able to become something other than oneself.

Roosa Sofia Nirhamo (she/her) trained in contemporary and modern dance at DANCEWORKS Berlin and lives in Berlin and Helsinki. Since 2018, she has been active as a performer, educator and producer/curator of Platform 14, an annual dance platform for female dancersand choreographers. Her work focuses on interdisciplinary collaboration with other artists.
In her work, she explores the body as a medium for sensations and experiences as well as the interaction between extreme physicality and vulnerability. In doing so, she plays with stereotypes and stigmas that surround the imagination of the feminine and the representation of the female body.
The event takes place as part of LANDSCAPES 4.0 . LANDSCAPES 4.0 is a festival organised by FENSTER ZUM OSTEN-shibak sharqi gGmbH in collaboration with COLLECTIF K-LI-P and MAHER DANCE COMPANY and with the kind support of Uferstudios GmbH.
