A mixture of Berlin underground cabaret & the Vegas Spice Girls: bizarre, amazing, refreshingly shrill!
The Barbarian Barbies combine acrobatics, dance and theatre with delightfully shocking silliness. With their love of slipping into a wide variety of characters, they tackle ideas of femininity with verve and vigour and take the mickey out of clichés in a blunt and touchingly playful way. Imagine the five superheroines as a mixture of Berlin underground cabaret and the Vegas Spice Girls.
The Barbarian Barbies, from Germany, New Zealand, Canada and Finland, are an international circus collective from Berlin. They have been touring Germany and beyond since March 2022 and successfully performed at the Edinburgh FRINGE Festival in Scotland in August 2024.
