Natalia Maria Michailidou NO FIXED ADDRESS

Set in a near-future dystopia shaped by hyper-capitalism, automation, and the consolidation of power, NFA imagines a world where human life is organized around maintaining systems that no longer serve it. Community has eroded into infrastructure. Labor is compulsory. Presence is tolerated only as long as it functions.

Five performers inhabit a rigid, surveilled order, hyper-visible yet unseen. Instead of reproducing images of homelessness or war, the work abstracts their psychological aftermath. Discipline fractures. Synchronization destabilizes. What remains when relational bonds collapse?

At its core, NFA examines what happens when recognition is systematically withdrawn. When indifference becomes structural. The piece explores the erosion of relational bonds and the dissolution of ontological grounding; the slow destabilization of self that can emerge from prolonged social abandonment. To be repeatedly unseen is not neutral. It fractures perception. It alters the basic conditions of being.

Rooted in lived experience of housing precarity and developed through research-based collaboration with marginalized communities in Berlin, the project approaches exclusion as embodied knowledge. NFA functions as a cautionary tale: if we continue to privilege isolation over solidarity, efficiency over care, and technological expansion over collective responsibility, what forms of life remain possible?

The theatre space becomes an immersive sensory field. Temperature shifts, spatial sound, dense sub-frequencies, and sculptural interventions reshape perception. In close collaboration with sound and multimedia artist Daria Redkina, an electronic sonic architecture surrounds the audience, physically present, destabilizing, inescapable. Sculptural installations by Natalia Michailidou, reconstructed shopping carts cut, re-soldered, and reconfigured, operate as survival structures and fragile domestic illusions within a controlled environment.

NFA collapses the distance between observer and system. Indifference can dissolve a person just as much as attention can reconstitute the space between us. This future is possible. Are we already rehearsing it?
