Tomoya Kawamura ORDINARY

Ordinary is a dance theatre piece by Atsushi Takahashi and Tomoya Kawamura.
The piece centres on the theme of the “everyday; ordinary” and explores the nature of daily life and those moments when this seemingly unshakeable normality is suddenly withdrawn.
It spans various historical and contemporary eras – from the social upheavals of 1933, the devastation of war and the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, to the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami of 2011 (often shortened to “Fukushima” in the West) and today’s society.

Through a fusion of dance and theatre, Ordinary poses a fundamental question:
What meaning does the ordinary have for all of us?
