momentum.kollektiv A VISIT TO KATT AND FREDDA’S

by Ingeborg von Zadow

Katt and Fredda live together, perfectly at home in their little world: a sofa for me, a sofa for you. Peaceful. Undisturbed. That’s just how one of them likes it, and she’s content. The other, however, is waiting. For something new. Something exciting. Sooner or later, this tension is bound to be released. And that’s exactly what happens when Miranda suddenly turns up and throws their beloved order into complete disarray. The visitor turns out to be a charming synthetic parasite who calculatingly plays Katt and Fredda off against each other. Things become uncomfortable. For all three of them. And in the end, none of them gets what they want. Or do they?

‘A Visit to Katt and Fredda’ is Ingeborg von Zadow’s most frequently performed play, with numerous productions both at home and abroad. “What makes this story, constructed according to the simplest of patterns, so special is its level of abstraction… Beyond any notion of realism, fictional characters emerge… who can take shape entirely in the audience’s sensory imagination.” (Christoph Lepschy, *Theater der Zeit*)

The momentum.kollektiv was founded in Berlin in 2025. The ensemble performs contemporary theatre interwoven with musical elements. In doing so, it places particular emphasis on the significance of the moment. With everything we bring with us – what we believe, hope for, fear, desire, think we know, negotiate – what do we allow to happen in the moment of an encounter? What is permitted to emerge in that moment? Within and between us?
