“Phantom Physical Picaresque [ppp]” is a solo Butoh piece by Hikaru Inagawa, and will be presented as Programme VIII of 4RUDE’s 20th anniversary project.

In this work, Hikaru draws on the style of the picaresque—an episodic, wandering form of storytelling—to create a rich and imaginative world. Today’s reality often feels stranger than fiction, but he believes that the stage holds another kind of reality: one that is dreamlike, poetic, and slightly distorted.
