Founded in Tokyo in 2005, 4RUDE celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2025.

We will be staging a series of performances every month until August 2026 to celebrate this milestone. These will feature revived versions of our previous works, particularly those created since our relocation to Berlin in 2013, as well as new productions. This is a unique opportunity to experience the history of 4RUDE.

Programme I is our second work in Berlin (2016).

Inspired by Kobo Abe’s novel The Woman in the Dunes, we have created a butoh theatre that seeps beneath the skin.
