ELEKTRO KAGURA IKUTANI SAN(産)

ELEKTRO KAGURA brings the ancient Japanese legend of AMATERASU to the stage in a modern dance production. In the story, the goddess of sunlight hides in a cave after her brother SUSANOO disappoints her, shrouding the world in darkness. But through the ecstatic dance of the goddess AMANOUZUME, the light returns. This contemporary version of the traditional KAGURA dance combines Japanese mythology with modern elements of light, sound and movement.
Viewers who wish to do so are invited to join us in the final scene of this performance.
