As part of the exhibition ‘Yugo Women: Migration and Emancipation’, the actress Jelena Bosanac presents her new performance entitled ‘I’m Packing My Suitcase’.
This interactive performance takes the audience through the stories of the first female migrant workers from Yugoslavia who arrived in West Berlin in the late 1960s. Almost five decades later, in 2013, Jelena also came to Germany. In five monologues, linked by her autobiographical story, personal memories intertwine with questions about home, migration, emancipation and identity.
The audience is invited to become part of this journey and to reflect on the question: “When are you a stranger, when are you at home – and where do you truly belong?”
Admission is free.
