“They should have sent us all to Madagascar. To
Madagascar! To the lemurs! In Madagascar, nobody would have noticed that
the language we speak isn’t German. We’d simply be
Europeans there.”
The play MADAGASCAR explores the depths
of historical and political fantasies, with a focus on the Central European
history of the 20th century, and takes the theme of ‘otherness’ as
a starting point to explore the possibilities of participation. The central
question is: How far will we go to be accepted?
