Prometheus is confused. Like so many young people, he asks himself: Who or what defines me? What does my existence mean in relation to the world around me? What drives me to either preserve existing orders or seek to break them down? He encounters Gaia, who reminds him that the world’s resources are finite. Driven by his own values, he constantly strives to do ‘the right thing’ and, in doing so, comes into conflict with the ruler Kronos.
Together with Zeus, he throws the order of the Titans’ Galaxy completely into disarray. They both fight for their own vision of a good world. But what is a good world? What is the right thing to do?
Greek mythology tells us a great deal about relationships. The play is based on Franz Fühmann’s *Prometheus – The Battle of the Titans*. Inspired by drag, video projections and other elements are used to establish a connection with the present day.
There will be a post-performance discussion afterwards.
