At the end of 2026, we will be saying goodbye to the Mitte location of the theaterhaus berlin, which is set to close temporarily due to upcoming refurbishment work. From 2027, the rehearsal rooms will move to the south wing of the Theater an der Parkaue in Lichtenberg. The Schöneweide location is currently being expanded. In the coming weeks, further rehearsal spaces will be added to the range on offer.
But before the doors at the Mitte location close, we want to highlight once more what makes this place special: the people who have worked, rehearsed, created and made countless memories here. That’s why we need you!
CALL FOR MEMORIES
With ‘We were here!’, we’re launching our farewell campaign today and calling on you to share your personal memories with us. Do you have any photos, videos or other mementos from your time at the theaterhaus berlin, Mitte location? Moments from rehearsals, productions, backstage or just everyday life? We’re collecting your stories and turning them into a collaborative project that shows just how much life there is in this building.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Photos: rehearsals, productions, spaces, people and everything in between (JPG or PNG, in original resolution where possible).
Videos: rehearsal footage, backstage moments, farewell messages and other clips (MP4 or MOV, ideally 5–30 seconds long).
WHO CAN TAKE PART?
Anyone who has rehearsed, worked, produced or otherwise spent time in the spaces at the theaterhaus berlin’s Mitte location.
