We’re moving! New location from 2027

For over 30 years, theaterhaus berlin has been a production centre and networking platform for the independent performing arts in Berlin. With two venues – Schöneweide and Mitte – it offers the largest number of cross-disciplinary rehearsal spaces for professional, independent performing artists in Berlin.

Now a change is on the horizon: from early 2027, the Mitte site will be temporarily closed due to upcoming refurbishment work. To ensure that you still have sufficient rehearsal spaces available during this time, we are relocating our facilities to the south wing of the Theaters an der Parkaue in Lichtenberg.

New location in Lichtenberg

A new, cross-disciplinary rehearsal space centre for the independent performing arts is being created in the south wing, in the immediate vicinity of the Theater an der Parkaue and the Weites Theater. You will have access to 22 rooms with a variety of facilities, which can be used during the usual opening hours.

We are delighted that, with our venue in Schöneweide – which will be fully operational from November 2026 with 34 rehearsal rooms and a studio stage – and, from March 2027 (provisionally), with the South Wing as a new venue in Lichtenberg, we will be able to guarantee continuous rehearsal facilities for the independent performing arts.

SAVE THE DATES

📌 Mitte location: Available for hire up to and including 19 December 2026
📌 Schöneweide location: Expansion to 34 rehearsal rooms from November 2026
📌 Opening of the Lichtenberg Location: March 2027 (provisional)
