The 2nd International Korea-Germany Dance Festival brings together artists from Korea and Germany, creating a space for encounter, exchange and artistic collaboration. The focus is on the dialogue between Korean dance, contemporary body language and current artistic issues.
The festival demonstrates how Korean dance can be reimagined and expanded today. Tradition is not presented as a rigid form, but as a living language that is carried forward through the contemporary body, personal experiences and modern perspectives.
The festival is organised by the Association of Korean Dance in Germany e.V. Under the leadership of Shim Hyun-joo, dancer, choreographer and chair of the association, the association is committed to raising the profile of Korean dance in Germany and to fostering cultural and artistic exchange between Korea and Germany.
The festival sees itself as a platform where artists from diverse backgrounds can engage in dialogue and where new forms of collaboration can emerge. It invites the audience to experience Korean dance not merely as a tradition, but as a living, contemporary and evolving art form.
