Concert “Through the centuries with the torban”
An instrument that has been forgotten for two hundred years resounds again. What music was played on this instrument? Let’s find out at the concert. Works by John Dowland, Turlough O’Carolan, Tymko Padurra and others.
Concert “Flos Vanus – Adabana”
The focus is on two fascinating female artists from around 1600: the Japanese dancer and theatre-maker Izumo no Okuni and the Italian composer Isabella Leonarda. They lived in an era in which women had significant artistic freedom and before the arts were increasingly reserved for men.
The programme “Flos Vanus – Adabana” tells of the ephemeral blossoms of art, of extroverted madness and spiritual asceticism, it celebrates the creativity of women who were ahead of their time.
