‘Pseudo-Archaeological Translation: The Berlin Case’ is an interactive performance that combines contemporary performance art with media technology. The focus is on the lived realities of former Korean nurses and migrant women from various countries who now live in Berlin. Their bodies bear the marks of care work, shaped by both family and societal experiences.
Drawing on their own stories and movements, they translate the diary of Trần Thanh Lan – a migrant who came to South Korea through international marriage migration and lost her life there. This embodied translation process raises questions about migration, identity, solidarity and cross-border empathy.
