The play conveys the intimate and universal drama of war through poetic, mythical and dreamlike characters, blurring the boundaries between humanity, animality and the spiritual world. On stage, the maternal figure, devastated by the loss of her children, embodies the almost supernatural strength of those who refuse to resign themselves to the spread of violence.

Portal Sur, Artes Vivas is a multidisciplinary collective comprising four female artists with migrant backgrounds (from Colombia, Argentina and Mexico) who work in a hybrid, physical format between Portugal and Germany.

The group was founded with the aim of exploring the complex themes of war and peace. The creative process is guided by the pedagogy of peace and the intersection of theatre, music, audiovisual media and performance.
