“zwischenkörpern” by Soley Huber and Jonathan Walker has been selected as a prize-winning entry for this year’s Tanztreffen der Jugend as part of the Berliner Festspiele. In a thrilling spiral of emotions, two bodies engage in dialogue. Starting from a place of security, they pass through various states of relationship – ranging from joie de vivre to exhaustion, conflict, understanding and mutual support. Just as human emotions are in a state of constant flux, this structured contact improvisation is a continuous cycle. Interpersonal relationships become increasingly relevant during phases of upheaval and development. We ourselves are currently at a point where we are experiencing this. In friendships as well as in romantic relationships, we find ourselves confronted with a new intensity. Relationships appear more multifaceted. This experience was the starting point for the creation of our first self-choreographed piece,*zwischenkörpern*.
